A small clay frog set on the edge of the tea tray, darkening and taking on a patina with every serving.
This figurine belongs to the tradition of Chinese tea companions: you place it near the teapot and pour the rinsing water over it, serving after serving. Hand-modelled in Yixing clay, a porous purple clay, it takes on a deep patina over time, unique to each one. Off the tray, it also makes a fine desk weight.

Day to day
It goes along with the tea ritual — puer, oolong, black tea or scented tea — and quickly becomes the small object you handle while waiting for the infusion. It also finds its place on a shelf or the corner of a desk, as a side object.
Our approach
We like objects that improve as they age. A clay that takes on a patina with use tells something a new object cannot say.
