A cylinder of light linen, turning a bare bulb into a diffuse, even light.
The drum shape is as simple as it gets: a circle at the top, a circle at the bottom, and linen stretched between the two on a metal frame. The PVC lining spreads the brightness without letting the bulb show, and the light linen shade goes with just about any wood.

Day to day
Fitted to a floor lamp by the sofa, it gives the side light of a reading corner. Hung above a table, it brings the brightness down to mealtime height.
Our approach
Linen takes on a patina, it doesn't date. We prefer a standard size, easy to replace later, to a shape that would only suit one lamp base.
